Ares Octarms Pro Range General Info:
The Ares Octarms Pro are the next evolutionary step of Ares’ Amoeba range. With full metal construction, tight-bore barrels, excellent EFCS gearboxes and an easy change spring system they naturally lent themselves to be being a perfect base for customisation. I was immediately impressed by the quality of these rifles out of the box and after trialling a few different upgrades to find a perfect match at good value I was completely amazed at their performance once upgraded. I personally took out my demo model and used it to play so I could assess the real-world performance and I absolutely was not disappointed. Once upgraded with our nearly full internal overhaul the range, rate of fire, trigger response and compression consistency of these rifles is top notch.
The full upgrade list of brand new parts is as follows:
Aluminium Bearing Piston Head,
14 Steel Tooth Piston,
Dual O-Ring Aluminium Cylinder Head,
13:1 or 18:1 (for DMR’s) Gearset with new Neodymium Magnets for the Sector Gear,
Full Shimming and Gearbox Re-greasing,
Neodymium Ultra High Torque Motor,
And last but not least an S-Hop Conversion.
Each Rifle in the range has been chosen with the idea of fulfilling a common role on the airsoft field.
The 15” naturally lends itself to be a DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) with its long barrel length aiding projectile stability. The long rail provides an excellent grip length to promote shooter stability and placement of a bipod for going prone and shooting from any number of windows, bunkers, towers or other preferable sniping positions.
Inside the gearbox the DMR option nets you a higher FPS of anywhere from 350 up to 450 dependent on your local sites rules. Also, inside is a higher torque gearset to take the extra strain from the bigger spring and still retain that crisp, snappy trigger response. The trigger is then re-programmed to be semi-automatic only regardless of semi or full-auto selector position to allow the rifles sale and use as a semi-automatic marksman’s rifle. Of course, these 2 upgrades are just a part of the full list of upgrades that goes into the Breach Customs Ares rifles.
